About Me.
My name is Harvey Tomlinson, 22 and I am a photographer from the east midlands. Photography is a passion of mine that I developed after the Covid-19 lockdowns because I was looking to get out and see the world more. Before Covid-19 I wasn't a particularly outdoorsy person but that changed in 2021 when I suddenly wanted to see the world and become more creative again. Before 2021 I was always a creative person but I had never found an outlet that I connected with, I knew I wanted to create things but I never knew if that was video, graphic design or more traditional mediums. When I discovered photography it became an obsession, I spent most of my savings in order to buy my first camera and I haven't stopped in four years and counting. I will photograph nearly anything as I love the challenge and the puzzle of trying to create the shot I have in my head.
I was self taught for the first two years of doing photography, now I am currently in the third year of my degree in photography. I'm studying in Nottingham and my course is run by the open university, I am on track for a 1st class degree and I hope to do my masters once I have finished. Two of my photos have won in the British photography awards, I won the peoples choice for documentary and the overall winner in architecture in 2025. Four of my images are going to be featured in the Glasgow gallery of photography in 2026. My work is set to be featured in the Edinborough Photographic society 4th digital salon in 2026. I have previously had my work featured in the Djanogly gallery and shortlisted for the Nottingham young creative awards. My work has been featured on the BBC and in the left lion multiple times.
